26 Jesus Tells You What to Do If you lose your life for Jesus and the gospel, you will save your life in this present age as well as the age to come! Jesus will give you new relationships and new possessions. If for the sake of Jesus and the gospel you give up friends or family or possessions, Jesus promises to give you 100 times as much in this age. Although you will face persecutions in this present age, He will give you new possessions and a new family and in the coming age He will give you eternal life (Mark 10:29-31). If you are single and you give up a relationship that will pull you away from Jesus, just remember that Jesus knows who is best for you in marriage: spiritually, mentally, emotional- ly, and physically. Wait for His Choice. Jesus will lead you to your life work when you take His yoke upon you and learn from Him. “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 A yoke is a wooden frame designed for two animals to work in harmony (e.g. 2 oxen pulling a plow together). The large crosspiece is shaped for the top of the oxen’s necks, and the two u-shaped oxbows fit around the necks of each ox. This yoke coordinates their effort and multiplies their strength.
