29 The Decision is Yours Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.” John 7:16,17 (NIV84) If you really want to do God’s will, God will reveal the truth to you. So read the teachings of Jesus in The Bible (read The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). Compare the words of Jesus with others, and you will know why people said: . . . “No man ever spoke like this man.” (John 7:46) How will you respond to this invitation from Jesus? Your eternal destiny will be determined by your decision. Will you come to Jesus and let him give you a new nature – teaching you and giving you the power to live God’s Way? Or will you continue going your own way – separated from God and His work in this life and facing eternal separation from God in the life to come? Listen to these wonderful words from Jesus: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Every- one who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” John 3:16–21 (NIV84)
