28 The Decision is Yours Jesus invites you to come to God the Father through Him, but the decision is yours. Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Jesus invites everyone and anyone to come to Him. “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened . . .” Matthew 11:28 “If anyone desires to come after me . . .” Mark 8:34b Our family, religious, and cultural backgrounds are diverse, but Jesus invites everyone to learn the truth. Religions differ greatly from one culture to another and from one family to another. Your beliefs would be different if you were born in another culture or another family. God under- stands this religious confusion, and He has sent His Son to teach us the truth about eternal life. All of us have beliefs about God that are false, but we think they are true. Jesus invites every person from every culture to come and learn the truth. Jesus emphasizes, “. . . Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” (John 18:37 )
